October's here and it's time for...
the Sentence-in-a-Story Meme!

Here's how it works:

Prompt-makers:
+ Just write a sentence. Any sentence at all. It can name a character or a pairing, or it can be completely random.
- i.e.: 'Kakashi rear-ended Iruka.'  'Konan was quite the masochist - she couldn't live without Pein.'   ''How many ninjas does it take to screw in a lightbulb?'

Prompt-fillers:
+ That sentence must be somewhere in your story. Doesn't matter where. Just so long as it's there.

+ Your post most be ANONYMOUS.
+ For organizational purposes, please post prompt pairings/keywords in the subject of your comment.
+ Play nice. This should be fun for ALL.
+ For every request you make try to fill out AT LEAST one request. Give and you shall receive (and the meme shall live on!).
+ Do not CLAIM prompts. Any given prompts can be filled infinitely, so you needn't claim the one you're writing, out of fear someone else will write for it as well. The more the merrier!
+ Make sure to watch the threads you start, so you'll know when your request has been filled/if any anon has replied asking for a clarification of your prompt.
+ Feel free to rec this far and wide!

* PLEASE DO NOT "SECOND" PROMPTS. SECONDING INEVITABLY LEADS TO FICS NOT GETTING WRITTEN. 'Seconded' comments will be deleted. No questions asked.

If you have any questions or concerns, please LJ message one of the new mods ([info]thisl0ser[info]0mega19x or [info]anat_astarte) not [info]modpuppet ! Happy writing, everybody!!

PS - if you're a fan of our new archive, you may have noticed the "improvements" Delicious has made lately. If you, like your friendly mod-team, hate sifting through this new mess, please visit our backup archive at its new home:

EDIT:

PPS: Remember January's 1 sentence meme (it's right here)? Maybe you'd like to see one of those fills expanded. Feel free to use them as prompts. (of course you don't have to).

In a perfect world...

In a perfect world, Sarutobi Hiruzen died of old age, Sarutobi Asuma died of lung cancer, and Jiraiya died by falling off a cliff while peeping.

In a Broken World...

It was all so wrong. That was the only thought her over-tired mind could process in that moment, breath stolen and nerves shaking with a wild cocktail of emotions that reached all the way to the tips of the kunoichi's fingers. And to her credit, it couldn't feel so validated as her team shuffled through the bramble and debris that stretched out before them. As they made sense of what used to be their home.

The village had been attacked by some crazed monster - another in a long string. And Team Gai hadn't been there to defend it.

From the snippets of conversation she head dfirting in and out around her, there had been only six. And yet, really, only one. What sense that made, she couldn't even begin to piece together. Tenten was already trying to solve another puzzle without adding that one on top of the heap.

This was the same village that had fought against an invasion headed by two opposing countries. This was the same village that housed the Nine-Tails spirit inside one of its most loyal of shinobi. How had things turned out this way?

It was all so wrong. It was far from ideal.

There shouldn't be this destruction. There shouldn't be bodies decorating the crumbled streets of her once beautiful home - Hinata shouldn't have been struggling or her life - And there shouldn't be so many great shinobi with their names carved into the Memorial Stone, waiting on the wings for more to come join them. In a perfect world, Sarutobi Hiruzen died of old age, Sarutobi Asuma died of lung cancer, and Jiraiya died falling off a cliff while peeping.

And more importantly, they all should still have been alive to face those deaths quietly and in peace.

What they got, instead, was a hellish nightmare of a joke that no one wanted to live in. It was heartbreaking.

"Maybe it was better that they died they way they did," she found herself muttering quietly to the winds, feeling the ache even now, "I'd hate to think that they would've lived long enough to see the village reduced to this."
